Eligibility Criteria for joining Police as an ASP

ASP is the short form of Additional Superintendent of Police. Federal Public Service Commission conducts exams for recruitment of ASI candidates. ASP has 17th grade and FCPS has the mandate to conduct exams for the posts of grade 17 and above. FCPS conducts competitive exams of CSS for selection of candidates of ASP. The candidate of ASP should have qualification of BA/ BSC in order to apply for the post. After passing of CSS exams under FCPS, the candidates are sent for training after which they can join ASP post and start their job.

Eligibility Criteria for joining Police as an DSP:

DSP is the abbreviation of Deputy Superintendent of Police. The selection process of DSP is quite similar to the selection of ASP while they also have to pass CSS exams under FCPS to join police department. After passing CSS exams, the candidates are selected for according to a definite time period and then they are eligible to join Punjab Police as DSP.

Eligibility Criteria for joining Police as an ASI:

ASI has a BPS of scale 09 which the abbreviation stands for Assistant Sub Inspector. The post of ASI is also selected through Federal Public Service Commission. The candidates of ASI must have intermediate level education while their age should be between 18 to 25 years and minimum height requirement is 5 feet 6 inches. There are 4 steps for selection of ASI. These include written test, interviews, medical fitness test and after passing these tests the candidates are sent for training which prepares them to join the police force as ASI.

Eligibility Criteria for joining Police as an Sub Inspector

Graduation from a recognized institute with minimum 2nd division is the qualification required to join police department as Sub Inspector. The members of this post have 14 scale of BPS. Age limit is 20 to 25 years. Applying candidate must have the domicile of his own district. 5 feet 7 inches is the minimum height required for male candidates while 5 feet 2 inches is the minimum height required for female candidates. Only for male candidates, the chest size is from 33 inches to 34.5 inches. For both male and female candidates, the vision should be 6/9 with or without glasses. It is necessary for the candidates to attach their medical fitness report with the form for applying for the post while the disability (if any) must be cleared before joining the police department as SI. Police Department conducts test before joining while the test includes several sorts of tests.
